About Polycarbonate
JEDA Polymers produces many standard formulations of polycarbonate with prime or recycled feedstocks. JEDA Polymers adds value to these engineering resins by increasing stiffness and tensile properties with the addition of fiberglass. In addition, these products can be further enhanced by adding UV additives, anti-stat additives, and lubricity to reduce wear on sliding components.

Exceptional toughness – resists shattering
Transparency
Very high light transmission ~ 88% - 92%. PC is often used as a glass replacement.
Electrical Insulation
PC is a very good insulator possessing high dielectric strength.
High Dimensional Stability
Dimensionally stable up to 130°C.
Flame Retardancy
Naturally self-extinguishing. Grades can achieve UL-94 V0.

Performance Overview
Polycarbonate is valued for its transparency, toughness, and flammability properties. PC, however, is prone to yellowing and degradation if not UV stabilized. PC is also scratch prone if not properly coated, and is subject to stress cracking with some solvents or cleaners.
