ABS is a thermoplastic polymer (actually a terpolymer). It is made by polymerizing styrene and acrylonitrile (SAN) in the presence of polybutadiene rubber. Acrylonitrile provides chemical resistance and heat stability. Styrene provided rigidity and a glossy finish. And lastly, butadiene provides toughness and impact resistance.
JEDA Polymers produces many standard formulations of ABS with prime or recycled feedstocks. JEDA Polymers adds value to these engineering resins by increasing stiffness and tensile properties with the addition of fiberglass. In addition, these products can be further enhanced by adding UV additives, anti-stat additives, and lubricity to reduce wear on sliding components.
